In Pitch Hill, each solfège note is a character with his or her own story. For example, Do is a Boxer! He LOVES to box! He wears special head gear and boxing gloves to protect him and when we sing the note that is Do, we show our hands like boxing gloves. Do is very strong and will catch Re if she falls off the roof! (You will have to purchase to hear her story!)
This flipchart was created to accompany the Pitch Hill method of teaching solfege.
The flipchart includes the following:
- Graphics of Do, Re, Mi, Fa Sol, La, Ti, and SD (high Do): Use to introduce or review characters!
- The Do Song
- The Re Song
- The Fa Song
- The Sol Song
- The Mi Song
- The La Song
- The Ti Song
- Practice identifying Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, and Ti with note heads. The notes are drag a copy and you and your students can practice placing and identifying them.
- Practice identifying Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, and Ti using traditional notation. The notes are drag a copy and you and your students can practice placing and identifying them.
- Pages use both note heads to isolate pitch and traditional notation to perform higher discrimination of pitch when rhythm is a factor.
- Instructions on using each page in the notes section.
- Pages for introducing Ti.
- A “Review” version of the Ti file for use when you aren’t ready to move to the next character but are past the introduction stage (not included in page count- bonus!)
